PURPOSE:To obtain the spectrum of the pure phosphorescence component of a phosphor which is not so long in half-reduction period easily and accurately, by intermitting exciting energy for making a measured material to luminesce, by making use of characteristics of the phosphor. CONSTITUTION:Luminous-body sample 1 to be measured emits light with a fluorescence component and phosphorescent component superposed by lamp driving output (a) of exciting lamp driving part 21 while exciting lamp 2 comes on, and consequently the output of amplifier 12 is held at a high level. Once exciting lamp 2 goes off, the fluorescence component disappears while an afterimage of only the phosphorescence component remains, so that output (b) of amplifier 12 will decrease in level. This signal (b) is sent to sample circuit 23. By timing output (c) outputted fixed time after exciting lamp 2 goes off, this circuit 23 holds the level of amplifier output (b) at that time and this held output (d) is sent to pen driver circuit 13. In this way, the spectrum of the pure phosphorescence component can be obtained easily and accurately. |
