The orthosis is for the re-education of the forearm. It comprises a pair of parallel brachial (7) and antebrachial (7) members pivotted together. The parallel members are joined by contoured supports (3, 9) for the upper and lower arm. The distal, antebrachial support is fixed, via a bifurcated bracket (15) to a sliding, driven linkage. The brachial support is rigidly fixed to the fixed lower member of the linkage (4), so the patient can grasp the handle (29) between the distal members and the arm can be flexed or extended according to the load applied to the linkage.
