This invention concerns a lumber elevator which comprises at least two parallel-running transport chains with carriers to accommodate pieces of lumber from a lumber stockpile and transport of the pieces of lumber to a level higher than the lumber stockpile. In lumber elevators of this type, it often happens that several pieces of lumber and especially pieces of lumber which are stacked edge to edge on top of each other are transported, and this constitutes a problem because the goal is to only transport one piece of lumber at a time. To eliminate this problem, the invention proposes an arrangement of pushing elements 18, which in a predetermined position shoot out across the transport plane of the elevator between consecutive carriers 3 which are passing through said predetermined position, and said position lies at a distance from the rear carrier 3, looking in the direction of transport, which is greater than the width dimension of the pieces of lumber. <IMAGE> |
