PURPOSE:To obtain a high grade image having high resolving power, by containing pigment having a specified BET specific surface area and a cationic substance in the recording surface of a material to be recorded while containing an acidic or direct dye in aqueous ink. CONSTITUTION:Pigment having a specific surface area of 200m<2>/g or less, pref., silicious pigment or synthetic silica is used in the layer constituting the recording surface of a material to be recorded. When this pigment and a cationic substance are together used, the acidic group in a dye molecule is adsorbed to catch a larger amount of a dye by the surface layer of the material to be recorded and, therefore, excellent image density is obtained. As the cationic substance, a cationic binder obtained, for example, by cationizing a water-soluble polymer such as starch, gelatin or sodium alginate or a water dispersible polymer such as SBR latex or acrylic emulsion is used. As the cationic substance, cationic pigment may be used and, in this case, a binder is made necessary. |
