Aminoplasts or amino resins are made by copolycondensing the dialkyl ether (I) of the dimethylol deriv. of a cpd. contg. 2 primary amido gps. (or equiv. gps) and an autooxidative gp.-contg. cpd. (II) or polycondensing (I) and then reacting with (II) and removing the alcohol released from the system. Pref. (I) include bis(m)ethoxymethylene urea and bismethoxymethylene benzoguanidine. Pref. (II) is trimethylolpropane diallyl ether.
