The stopper is made up of a number of interlocking components which are each manufactured from different plastics material. It comprises a ring (40) with a base flange (42) and latches (50, 51). The cover (25) has two vertical extensions (31, 32) fitted with flanges at the base, to hold the latches on the base ring (40). A number of rings (18, 19) maybe carried on the main sleeve (1) so as to form an integral stopper. When the locking extensions are gripped by the ring, the stopper will not come off when subjected to normal tension or torsion.
