<p>The sighting telescope makes it possible to direct a firearm on to a distant target. It has a first optical system near the firearm and on the optical axis (1) parallel to the line of fire. The firearm is deflected to give the correct line to the target. Electrical signalling is given for the corresponding deflection and to pass this to the first optical system by a line inclined to the optical axis. The signalling includes opaque rotating tubes (8, 9), with a helicoidal coaxial slit. A ray inside the tube gives a luminous point visible through the slot. The electrical circuit associated with the signalling system incorporates a potentiometer, an electric motor and differential amplifier.</p> |
