The up-and-over garage door has minimal height and is suspended on a plane passing through the centre of gravity of the door whatever its position. The interior cable pulley can be higher than the entrance pulley, reducing the return distance (10) of the lintel (11). The up and over door (2) has a projection (6) half way down which takes the cable end (5) and the curved cable guide and the projection tilts beneath the door in the open position in line with the cable and the door centre of gravity.
