<p>The emergency release forms part of the upper fixing point for the belt and comprises a shouldered pin (10) fixed to the vehicle bodywork (11). This acts as a location for the belt buckle (20), seating onto a collared plastics washer (25). A large diameter flat housing (30) retains the belt buckle and prevents lateral movement. The inner recess (13) of this housing holds two spring loaded half-washers (33, 34) locking over the end of the shouldered pin. An external button (36) is pushed to expand these lock washers and allow the belt buckle to be pulled off.</p> |
