<p>The support plates are provided with sections which have a convex and a concave profile. These sections are short and alternate with each other. The heat exchanger tubes are pushed along the sections and their slightly larger cross sections provide a tight grip to improve heat transfer across the plate. The alternate convex and concave profiles are formed by compound press tools, each length being shaped by one press stroke. The change of section between two profiles requires shear cutting edges at the relevant points along the tools.</p> |
