<p>Polyolefin compsns are prepd by forming an intimate mixt of a powdery inorganic filler (4-5 pts wt) and epoxidised oil (100 pts) and then mixing 50-400 pts of the prod with 100 pts polyolefin. The compsn is partic for producing tubes by extrusion. It can be directly processed and gives mechanically strong, flame resistant articles. The tubes are cheaper to produce than PVC tubes and, unlike the latter, do not emit HCl and generate less smoke on combustion.</p> |
