[Also in Divisions D1 and F4] A gas distribution duct 1 having apertures. 2 has a concentric, axially movable control duct 5 mounted therein, both of which ducts communicate with an inlet chamber 3. The distribution duct is divided by a partition wall 16 into parts 15a, 15b, the former part communicating directly with the chamber 3 when the duct. 5 is moved axially to a position in which its frustoconical end 7 abuts the chamber wall 3a, and the latter part 156 communicating with the chamber via the duct 5 when the control duct is axially moved to a position wherein an outer flange 8 abuts against the opening of the duct 1. An intermediate position of the control duct (as shown) permits division of the gas into desired proportions to both parts of the duct 1. The control duct is mounted rotatably about its longitudinal axis and has spring-urged shielding plates 17 mounted thereon to cover, at will and at least partially, the openings 2 in the duct 1. |
