The invention comprises Cr complexes of monoazo dyes wherein a Cr atom is complexed with one molecule of an azo dye which is free from COOH and SO 3 H groups, wherein D is an o-phenylene diazo component residue and A is the residue of an acetoacetamide linked in ortho-position to the enolized keto group, and with one molecule of an azo dye of formula wherein one X is NO 2 and the other SO 3 H. The dyes are prepared by reacting the 1:1-Cr complex of the latter dye with an equimolar amount of the former. The dyes are used to colour natural and synthetic nitrogenous materials, in particular wool and leather, in brown shades. |
