The vehicle has a pick-up drum for stalk-, leaf- or similar crops, a connecting guide channel, a cutting device in the form of fixed cutting blades projecting into the guide channel and a conveying device with pick-up to feed the crop in the guide channel and past the blades. The loading vehicle has a mechanical elevator with its pick-up end adjacent to the outlet end of the guide channel(22). This feeds the cut crop to the loading chamber. A drive drum(17) within the guide channel bounds a conveying gap between its circumference and a wall of the guide channel. It has rigid pick-ups(16) on its circumference. The cutting blades(18) engage between the pick-up and there are strippers(21) behind the cutting blades.
