<p>The lubricating oil detector is for an internal combustion engine. It includes an oil reservoir disposed in a chamber of the engine where pressure pulsations are produced by reciprocating movement of the piston. An oil lever detecting pipe extends to the exterior crank case of the engine, having an end opening at a lowest allowable oil level in the reservoir. A pressure detecting actuator is mounted on the case and connected through a connecting tube to the pipe. When the oil level is below the lowest level, the pressure pulsations in the case are directed to the actuator, which then stops the engine or operates an alarm.</p> |
