Vehicle IC engine with one fuel injector per cylinder - has injector control linkage common to operation by driver and by speed regulator

The motor vehicle engine with fuel injection comprises a speed regulator whose movement is parallel to the crankshaft and an injector for each cylinder. An injector control linkage is common to the driver-operated lever and the speed regulator. The operating stroke of the injector is in a direction at right angles to the crankshaft. To obtain this movement, the linkage has a lever on a rotatable shaft which is rotated directly by the driver-operated lever and indirectly via a screw and nut, to convert the linear speed regulator movement into rotation.
