Arm printer with individual type - has distinguishing character for two text types using additional dual position underline arms

A device for individual type arm printers characterises the printer output, esp. as input or output data in data processing systems. It enables distinction between the two text types even when printout is copied, unlike the case of dual colour identification systems. An additional type arm (4) can be positioned as required with its striker face (9) in contact with the individual regular type arm (3) so that it prints a marker character, e.g. an underlining, as the regular arm moves forward to print. The additional arm may be slid into position beneath the regular type face from below so as to lie in front of a colour tape (5). The arm is a spring-loaded frame with the distinguishing character at the top.
