<p>(Ln,Pb)OX:Tb-type phosphor, emitting photographically active light when stimulated by x-rays, also contains Pr as activator, so that it has the formula (Ln, Pb)OX:Tb:Pr (in which Ln is Y, La and/or Gd and X is F, Br, I and/or Cl). Pref. Ln is La and X is Br, giving the phosphor the formula (La1-w-x-y-zPbwNax)OB:TbyPrz (in which w = 0.0001-0.1mole, x = 0.0001-0.05 mole, y = 0.0005-0.05 mole and z = 0.0005-0.05 mole/mole oxyhalide phosphor). Tl can also be added, pref. in an amt. of 0.0001-0 0.005(0.01) mole/mole. The phosphor is used in x-ray intensifier screens and gives better definition, since the grain size is reduced.</p> |
