<p>A mould for the continuous casting of metals has its sides formed by copper plates (1), at least one of which is fixed by threaded rods (5) to a frame (2) forming a cooling box, the said frame comprising an inner wall (3) laid against the plate (1) into which the threaded rods (5) are screwed, and an outer wall (4) parallel to the previous wall, the said walls having passages (8, 9) with a cross-section markedly greater than that of the threaded rods (5) which pass through them. To permit displacement, in its plane, of the plate (1) relative to the frame (2) on account of the differences in expansion, each threaded rod (5) is provided with a tightening member (10), the said member, tightened with a predetermined tightening torque, bearing on the outer wall (4) of the frame (2) via a ring (11) fitted on a bearing surface (14) of the threaded rod (5), the said ring being provided with an O-ring (12) on its plane face laid against the outer wall (4) of the frame (2). <IMAGE></p> |
