PURPOSE:To produce the captioned mold of superior corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance by applying Co or Ni plating to part or the whole of the inside circumferential wall of the mold body then roughening the surface and flame-spraying WC-Co alloy thereon and further flame-spraying Mo-Ni-Cr alloy. CONSTITUTION:A Co or Ni plating layer 2 is applied by a Selectron method to part or the whole of the inside circumferential wall of a continuous casting mold body 1 to thicknesses about 20-50mu. Thence, the top surface of this plating layer is roughened by a blast method, after which the mold body 1 is preheated and WC- Co alloy is flame-sprayed thereon. The thickness of the flame-sprayed layer 3 is made about 0.2-0.3mm. Thence, further Mo-Ni-Cr alloy is sprayed and the thickness of the flame-sprayed layer 4 is made about 0.1-0.2mm. The flame-spraying of these is accomplished by, e.g., a plasma spraying method. |
