<p>Living plants can be defoliated using a compound of the general formula I (I) in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group which may be interrupted by at least one hetero atom selected from oxygen and sulphur atoms; R3 represents an alkyl group which may be interrupted by at least one hetero atom selected from oxygen and sulphur atoms, a cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon group which may be substituted by at least one alkyl group, or an aromatic hydrocarbon group which may be substituted by at least one substituent selected from alkyl groups, halogen atoms, alkyl-mercapto groups, alkoxy groups, trifluoromethyl groups and a nitro group, or R2 and R3 together with the adjacent nitrogen atom represent a morpholino, piperidino or pyrrolidino group; and X represents an oxygen or sulphur atom. The compound of the general formula I is prepared, for example, by reacting a compound of the general formula in the presence of an acid-binding agent with a carbamoyl or thiocarbamoyl chloride of the general formula . in which R1, R2, R3 and X have the above meanings.</p> |
