PURPOSE:To provide an image recorder which has a sufficiently high SN ratio and can be driven by a relatively low voltage and magnetic force and has little discharge and to record a sharp stable image, by making a stylus of a magnetic material of higher susceptibility than a flowing toner. CONSTITUTION:A stylus 1 is made of a material of higher susceptibility than a magnetic fluid. The magnetic field of a magnet 2 is 100-2000 Oe. A material having a high susceptibility to the magnetic field is appropriate for the stylus. A material, whose magnetization is saturated under the magnetic field and which has a higher saturation susceptibility, has a higher SN ratio. The saturation susceptibility of the material needs to be larger than that of the magnetic fluid. An image can be stably and sharply recorded by a voltage, which may be lower according as the SN ratio is higher. |
