The invention comprises the N-acetyl-l-cysteine salt of d-threo 1-(p-methylsulphonylphenyl) - 2 - dichloroacetamido - 3 - aminoacetoxy - 1 - propanol, and the preparation thereof by reacting the components in the presence of an anhydrous organic solvent. Therapeutic compositions in unit dosage form contain the aforesaid salt, preferably in solution. They possess a combination of mucolytic and antibacterial activity. |
