PURPOSE:To perform reinforcement of good workability and reliability within a short time by heating and reinforcing the fusion-connected part of optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:When a covering 2 is coated to the bar portion near the fusion- connected part of optical fibers 1, 1 and heat is applied thereto, the covering 2 dries instantaneously and the portion near the connected part 4 is reinforced with good workability in a short time. This provides the reinforcement of high reliability because no adhesive agents are used. If the adhesive part 4 is contained in a heat- resistant case 6 and is heated, the case 6 becomes reinforcement material owing to melting of the secondary covering 3. It is also possible to reinforce the connected part 4 by forming a protecting layer 7 through heating of the case of the same material as the covering 3. |
