Jellyfish barrier for sea bathing area - has submerged bed anchored screen hung from float and straddled by pipes emitting air bubbles

The barrier comprises a totally submerged screen (2) together with a curtain or air bubbles (10), and prevents jellyfish (9) from penetrating a beach side sea bathing area. The screen or partition (2) is anchored to the sea bed (11) by concrete blocks (3) inc. two perforated (12) pipe (1) air feeds which are set on the sea bed on either side of the screen. The pipes, thus, run continuously along both sides of the screen, the rising flow (8) of air bubbles promoting currents which lift and direct jellyfish away from the protected area. The arrangement affords protection without a visible barrier, and the screen may be suspended from a nominally submerged float (4) in the form of an inflated tube.
