<p>Hydraulic binder comprises a mixt. of (a) ore treatment residue contg. >=5% Na aluminosilicate and 20% oxides of Fe, and (b) a product contg. free lime added esp. as free lime or as fly ash from thermal power stations contg. >=20% SiO2 >=30% CaO, part of which is free lime, and >=10% Al2O3 the proportions of (a) and (b) varying from 90:10 to 10:90. Mfr. of concrete blocks, bricks, tiles, roads, soil stabilisation etc. The binder can be mixed with suitable constituents to form a cold setting concrete having tensile and compressive strengths superior to those achieved with classical cements. It also permits recovery of otherwise pollutant by products, and uses up noxious and bulky waste materials.</p> |
