<p>The mallet has a hollow head the interior cavity of which is readily accessible. It can be adapted to suit different purposes, the head weight or rebound characteristics being varied by inserting alternative quantities of lead shot in the cavity. It may have both a handle (2) and a head (1) with an intercommunicating hollow construction. The cavity is accessible through an opening (3) in the handle. The opening i plugged by a pin (4). An alternatively the hollow head has screw-in caps on each axial extremity, or a screw fixed half-shell covers the central head zone. The cover extends over and is retained in the root of the handle to which it is screwed.</p> |
