Simplified construction master cylinder - with tubular housing and clamped collar pressure connection

The master cylinder in the brake system is of simplified construction. it has a tubular cylinder fitted with a separate reservoir(17) and in which the output connection is provided by a clamp-on collar(6) covering the outlet hole and fitted with a threaded connector for the brake line. The collar is secured by a screwed plug locating in a hole in the cylinder and provided with a bored duct. The collar provides a simple connection without any machining of the cylinder. The cylinder can be made from non corrosive tubing while the collar and reservoir comprise simples castings.
