<p>Welded joints made in coated fabrics for garment seams at junctions likely to be subjected to tension, are made using a jig to first make a lap weld between two pieces of fabric, then fold the added piece over a thin template before welding the folded layer to form a seam of treble fabric thickness. Used for the seams for e.g. raglan-style sleeves on coats or jackets as a rapid alternative to reinforcement of simple lap joints by stitching and postwelding.</p> |
