A process for drying an efflorescent material which is in the form of a paste or slurry. The process comprises pressure filtering the paste or slurry to express water and to form a filter cake the solids content of which is at least 50 percent by weight. The filter cake is thereafter divided into small discrete particles which are contacted with air having a temperature, being less than 100 DEG C., and a relative humidity, being less than 90 percent RH, which will not cause loss of water of crystallization from the efflorescent material. |
