In the central heating system the radiators in each room are fitted with thermally operated valves to regulate the hot water flow. The timing program for each radiator is independent of the remainder of the system. This means that it is only necessary to switch on the heating in a particular room for the times that it is being used. The radiators are fed from a boiler (8) with a circulation pump (11) in the supply line (9). The supply line and the return line (10) are linked via a bypass line (12) with a differential pressure regulator (13). Each room (4, 5, 6) is fitted with a control instrument (22), which consists of a timer (26) and a room thermostat (27). They control the radiator valves (24).
