The appts. includes a vertical spraying tube, which can be inserted in a furnace or ladle to spray refractory onto the zones being repaired; and the tube projects downwards from a frame suspended from a crane hook. The bottom end of the tube has an inclined outlet and remote control devices are used to rotate the tube and to move it vertically. The pref. appts. uses a frame in which a second frame can be raised or lowered by a hoise and carries a motor rotating the spraying tube in the lower part of the second frame. Hoses are pref. used to carry refractories and water to a mixer head on the top end of the spraying tube. The appts. is versatile and can direct refractories and water exactly towards the zones requiring repair.
