<p>The cylinders of each pair of a series of pairs assembled in a rotary press for the random dyeing of a continuously running web of raw yarn, are assembled in a sub-frame. This has a support arrangement which can be moved in and out of the press frame, so as to bring the driving transmission of the press into contact with the cylinders when they are in the working position. The pressing cylinders act on both sides of the web of yarn as it runs between them, and the cylinders can be exchanged for other having a different pattern. Used for the manufacture of floor coverings and carpet having a patchwork effect without any pattern being reproduced. The yarn must be dyed over its whole length with selective irregularity, so that patterns are not formed in the product. The press is designed so that the cylinders both of the production as well as of the laboratory test press, can be changed very easily and quickly.</p> |
