Flashing signal lamp for goods train - with varying signal indicating drop in voltage of supply battery from 6 to 3 volts

The lamp comprises a supply battery, a gas discharge tube and an a stable multivibrator acting as the flashing circuit. The multivibrator is coupled to a voltage converter with two conversion stages with a first smoothing capacitor in parallel with the input of the first stage and a second storage capacitor in parallel with its output and the input of the second stage. The multivibrator output controls the second voltage conversion stage which is connected across the light tube. The lamp circuit provides a constant signal with approx. rectangular light pulses over the major part of the battery operating life, e.g. until the battery voltage drops from 6V to 3V.
