A powder-contg. absorption pad for hygienic purposes, e.g. a baby's napkin, consists of a bottom foil which is impermeable to moisture and an upper foil which is permeable to moisture, which are joined at the ends and enclose an absorbing layer. The upper foil carrier on its side opposite to that facing the absorbing layer a coating of powder, which is preferable applied, in the case of polyethylene or polypropylene foils, by a heat treatment such as hot calendering. The pref. powder density is 5 to 25 g/m2. Such pads lose no powder during packaging or handling. It eliminates the wet feel in contact with the sking of a patient or baby. |
