Biological sewage treatment - by alternate immersion and raised aeration of biologically active structures

A plant for the treatment of sewage consists of a basin with a conical bottom and a partition nearly to the bottom. Two separators, assembled from parallel plates and with a packing for a microbiologically active layer are suspended from ropes on a rocket beam and are in turn immersed and raised for aeration. Such a plant requires a minimum of floor space. It operates for long periods of time steadily and with a high efficiency.
