<p>Printing on pharmaceutical tablets, dragees, capsules, suppositories, etc. is effected by means of a computer-controlled ink-jet printer. Printer is pref. of the type operating at subatmospheric pressure with piezoelectrically generated shock waves. Tablets are pref. printed as they are ejected from the tabletting press, the ink pulses being timed in accordance with the speed of the press. Alternatively the tablets etc. can be aligned on a moving belt and scanned with a photoelectric cell which controls the printer. Process can be used in print various symbols, warning, halving lines, etc. at high speed and with high precision, (e.g. at a speed of =100 per sec).</p> |
