The high pressure relief valve is for a packaging container with a base plate fitted with a hole for the valve and forming a seating for the valve. The relief valve also includes a valve membrane covering the valve hole completely and the base plate partly and with viscose sealing device inserted between the valve seating and the valve membrane. A gas outlet channel can be formed between the valve seating and the valve membrane emanating from the valve hole and splitting open the viscose sealing device. The relief valve is also fitted with a second valve hole equally loosely covered by the valve membrane which is located next to the first valve hole viewed in the direction of the gas outlet channel.
