One arm portion (5b) of a disc brake slidable caliper (5) abuts one friction pad (9) at one side of a rotatable disc (2), and another arm portion (5a) of the caliper has therein a piston (8) for pressing the other friction pad (7) against the other side of the disc. A plurality of grooves (11) is formed in the one arm portion (5b) of the caliper in the face (10) thereof abutting the one friction pad (9) to reduce heat transfer to the caliper and to ventilate the back of the pad. <IMAGE> |
