Heading A4F and A4K A floor or carpet cleaning apparatus 10 has a handle 12, a container 11 for storage of cleaning liquid, an inner member 16 disposed within a hollow cylinder 15 formed as a screen, mesh or lattice, the inner member 16 and the hollow cylinder 15 being relatively rotatable, the inner member including, and/or the hollow cylinder including on its inner surface, means for foaming the cleaning liquid upon relative rotation of the hollow cylinder 15 and inner member 16. The foam producing means described are bristles 18 and/or rollers 21 carried by the inner member and bristles (19) Fig.6 (not shown) also carried by the hollow cylinder 15. The hollow cylinder may be rotated relative to a fixed inner member by contact with the carpet or floor, or may be fixed and runner wheels provided to contact the floor and provide a drive to rotate the inner member 16. The hollow cylinder is corrugated axially and the cleaning fluid delivered to within the hollow cylinder via a bore in the inner member 16. |
