1451130 Coating with foamed rubber compositions POLYSAR Ltd 17 June 1974 [22 June 1973 (2)] 26679/74 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] The underside of a woven ribbon polypropylene primary backing tufted with nylon yarn and pre-coated with a carboxy-SBR latex, and a sheet of woven jute fabric, are coated with a foamed rubber composition formed from a composition produced by adding a) ammonium sulphonate or an amine sulphonate, b) a zinc or cadmium ion donor compound, c) ammonia or an ammonia donor compound which releases ammonia on heating and d) a vulcanization system for the rubbery polymer, to a latex of a rubbery polymer in which the polymer particles are maintained in a dispersed state by the presence of adsorbed ions of an emulsifying agent which are capable of forming water-insoluble species on reaction with zinc or cadmium ions. The foamed composition is heated, with the aid of infra-red heaters; to gel it and subsequent heated in an oven to vulcanize it. |
