PURPOSE:To prevent a position of side gear from shifting when in assembly of the differential gear device, by installing a stopper partially to the differential gear case, and holding the side gear at its free end. CONSTITUTION:In a differential gear case 30, with its inner face formed into a ball shape, is assembled a side gear 31, 32, which is meshed to a pinion mate gear 33, 34. The side gear 31, 32 is prevented from being shifted its position by a folded part 49a of a stopper 47 stopped partially to the differential gear case 30. Accordingly, the work of installing a drive shaft to the side gear 31, 32 can be easily operated. No fear is provided after the assembly for a rotary motion to be disturbed by the stopper 47.
