Testing anodised surfaces via their admittance and dielectric loss - using measuring tongs contg. electrolytic measuring cell made of impregnated felt

The test piece is placed in a pair of tongs, one tong jaw being fitted with a pointed contact making a metallic contact with the test piece. The other tong jaw carries a measuring cell (1) made of permeable material and impregnated with electrolyte via a wick supplied by a sponge acting as a reservoir for the electrolyte. The cell (1) pref. consists of a felt disc supplied by a felt wick and touching a metal contact provided with holes. The sponge reservoir is pref. located in an easily replaceable cartridge, which can be used for dipping the sponge in electrolyte outside the appts. for replenishing the reservoir. The test piece does not require to be in a horizontal position as there is no free electrolyte liq. which can flow out of the appts.
