The toy or gymnastic ropeway has a wire rope placed over rollers. It is brought to a hard tension by a screw thread and with a pulley unit of double length with its roller base being wide apart. This method of suspension ensures that in use the pulley has little effect on the tension of the main rope so that the user can move from one end to the other simply by pushing off with his feet and can also return by turning the other way. This enables the ropeway to be used in both directions and avoids the need for returning of empty pulleys.
