A vacuum cleaner suction nozzle comprising housing 10 provided with nozzle part 12 and brush part 16 capable of being raised and lowered relative to nozzle part 12 is characterized in that the brush part 16 is retained in its lowered position by attraction between magnet 19 and armature 22. A permanent magnet or electromagnetic arrangement may be used. The brush part may be lowered by stepping on housing part 17 which is made of resilient material. To return the brush part to its raised position, housing part 17 is stepped on again. Pedals may be provided to perform these functions. <IMAGE> |
