A photographic light-sensitive silver halide element contains in the emulsion or in a layer contiguous thereto cadmium chloride together with citric acid and/or tartaric acid. The compounds may be added to the emulsion prior to or after the second digestion or after-ripening step and act as an antifoggant. The effects of adding the compounds are compared with those of adding the cadmium chloride alone, citric acid alone, cadmium chloride and 2N sulphuric acid, cadmium nitrate, and citric acid and potassium chloride. |
