Razor shear foil coating - by sputtering from gaseous phase on heat conductive paramagnetic and magnetic substrates

The shear foils of electrical razors are made of nickel foil which has been coated with a hard material by deposition from the gaseous phase, pref. titanium nitride by a sputter process. The foil is placed on a heat conductive intermediate foil which rests on a heat conductive magnetic substrate. The intermediate foil is pref. made of paramagnetic material (nickel), and the magnetic substrate is assembled from permanent magnets in a checkerboard arrangement. Good heat conductivity results in quick heat dissipation so that brittleness cannot occur in the shear foils.
