A strip (1, 2) which has a self-adhesive layer on one side is provided, on the other side, with markings (4) which recur at a defined interval. The strip (1, 2) is used, for example, for laying the reinforcing bars (5) in reinforced-concrete construction work. In this arrangement, the strip is adhesively bonded onto the base (3) of the shuttering and the reinforcing bars (5) are laid in accordance with the markings (4).
