A height adjusting mounting is for steerable wheels of a heavy vehicle with low ground clearance in which the vertical height control rams form the pivot for each wheel. The wheel mounting is linked to a sleeve over the rams via a U-shaped bracket, with the sleeve also linked to the steering arms. The system provides a strong, compact mounting for the wheels of a low loader. The height control allows the load surface to be dropped onto the ground for load transfer.
