The refrigerator has a two-temp. evaporator with a C-shaped deep-freeze compartment formed by a plate, and followed by a flat plate for the main compartment. The serpentine passages for the refrigerating medium in the vertical part of the deep-freeze evaporator slope slightly upwards towards the main evaporator. These passages can be interconnected by parallel passages. The design largely avoids icing of the plate, where it passes between the compartments.
